The Field List window displays the fields and parameters in the result set for the report. To display the Field List, click its tab at the bottom of the window containing both the Report Explorer and Field List.

Right-click a field in the list to display a shortcut menu with the following choices:

  • Add Calculated Field: adds a calculated field and displays its properties in the Properties Grid. A calculated field displays a different icon than a real field but can be used as the data source for an object in the Layout Area just like a real field.

  • Edit Calculated Fields: displays the CalculatedField Collection Editor, which allows you to see all the calculated fields and edit their properties.

  • Edit Expression: displays the Expression Editor, which allows you to edit the expression for the calculated field. This item only appears in the menu if the selected item is a calculated field.

  • Remove All Calculated Fields: removes all calculated fields. This item only appears in the menu if the selected item is a real field and is disabled if there aren't any calculated fields.

  • Delete: removes the selected calculated field. This item only appears in the menu if the selected item is a calculated field.

Right-click a parameter in the list to display a shortcut menu with the following choices:

  • Add Parameter: displays the Add New Parameter dialog with settings for the new parameter.

  • Edit Parameters: displays the Parameter Collection Editor, which allows you to see all parameters and edit their properties.

  • Delete: removes the selected parameter.
