01/13/2008 8:20 AM Alert

I am putting a new PDC into service and it will house my Stonefield files.  Currently we are running SFQ for GM and SFQ SDK.  If I remember correctly, my original SFQ GM license was tied to my old server.

Do you have procedure for server migration for these two tools?

Thanks,

Susan Simpson, Enefco

Yes, the licenses are tied to the hardware of the Workstation/Server that the license file resides on. To migrate to a new server, the steps are as follows:

For Stonefield Query for Goldmine

1) Install Stonefield Query for Goldmine on the new server

2) Send in the serial # of the license(s) that you want to move to the new server to support@stonefieldquery.com. Also send in the registration # of the new server (you get this from step 3 of the activation wizard that you can access by clicking the "Click here to activate" link on the splash screen)

3) If you are adding a single license, you simply enter the information we send back in step 3 of the activation wizard. If there are multiple licenses, use the Tools->license manager to add any additional licenses past the first one.

4) Copy the reports.* and security.* files from whatever you had the reports folder set to on the old server to whatever folder you set for the reports folder on the new server.

For the Stonefield Query SDK

Follow the same steps as described for Stonefield Query for Goldmine, but note that you will also have to transfer any projects you want to access on the new server. Also, when activating the SDK, you will need to enter activation information for both the config utility, and also the Query tool (sfquery.exe) part of the SDK installation.
