The MAPI option simply tries to get the email settings from the email client, but this doesn't always work. The best way to get this up and running is to get the address of the outgoing mail server (SMTP server), and if necessary, the outgoing authentication information, and enter that manually.
The email settings are stored per computer user (i.e. If I am logged in to my PC as TMANSUY, then the email settings I see are those entered for this computer account).
