Hi,

I found that, 3.20 takes longer time to generate report. I have a query that only takes ~0.5-1.0 seconds to return 4100 records. However, SFQ will take another 15-20 seconds to generate report.

Please rectify.

There is not much you can do about this other than altering the report so that it is less pages (by having a more restrictive filter or by altering the layout so there is less whitespace on the report). The more pages there are on a report the longer it will take to run.

Also if you have any code in the AfterData section of the report then that will also slow things down.

for a lengthy report 15 to 20 seconds is not bad, try Crystal Reports for a change.
Running a lengthy report there gives you enough time for a rich lunch.

So, 4100 records. With normally about 40 lines per page this means that there are 98 pages generated. (with NO pictures or graphs or whatever).
this means that each page is generated in .15 to .2 second (give and take a bit). Not quite bad, I'ld say.

Just makes me wonder who would read such a report and how often that report has to be generated.

Hi,

I retest my report under "English" environment, and it takes 35 seconds, to render 126 pages which contains 4105 records.

Is it consider acceptable? I am not sure. However, I always feel VFP always able to show report in a second.
