Our client was viewing a report in preview mode. They clicked the export button at the top of the screen and selected Excel as the export format. They were prompted for the filename - we kept the default - and clicked Open. We couldn't see what the report was doing, if anything. The mouse would turn into an hourglass if I moved it over the toolbar but that was it. The query engine was taking up to 99% of the processor speed and eventually, after a few minutes, we reset the Terminal Server session.
I re-connected with the client and from the main screen I set the output to File, selected Excel, and Processed. Within 10 seconds the report was generated. |
