04/15/2008 7:30 AM Alert

I recently upgraded a users' GoldMine from V6.5 to 7 and QW from Standard to Professional on SQL.

Several of the reports I created against the QW database alone would not run and gave blob errors and phrase errors. When I stripped out the fields and re-added them the report worked.

However, changes to these reports make them fail again.

One very strange issue is where I use CustimText12 from Header as a group band in the report. The report works, but only the first letter of that field value is displayed and even though I would expand the field and ensure expand overflow is available it still won't show the value. When I remove and add the field again, it gives a blob error and the report fails.

I seem to have quite a bit of instability with SF since upgrading to SQL.

Just to add, the error message I get most often if I make any change to these reports is:

The Query Failed. The message from the database engine was:
Operation is invalid for a Memo, Blob, General or Picture Field.

I took a working copy of the report, added in detail fields and now the report fails again with this message.

Hi Denis,

At least one of the issues you describe sounds like a bug in the older version. Did you try updating to the latest version of Stonefield Query yet?

Also, if the problem persists, export the report (.sfx) and any errors you get and send them to support@stonefieldquery.com.

Trevor
