Sage BusinessVision Specific Features
- Stonefield Query works with Sage BusinessVision versions 7.0 to 7.2.
- Automatically converts dates, which BusinessVision stores as character values (for example, "20080304" for 03/04/2008), into true date values, which works better for display purposes and for date expressions.
- Automatically converts time values, which BusinessVision stores as numeric values (for example, "113527" for 11:35:27), into nicely formatted time values.
- Includes several pre-built calculations, such as Extended Price and Margin in SO Details.
- Displays certain fields in the logical table rather than the actual table BusinessVision stores them in. For example, customer addresses are stored in an address table by the address type (bill-to, ship-to, etc.), making them difficult to report on. Stonefield Query shows those address fields as if they exist in the customers table, making them as easy to report on as any other customer field.
- Purchases and sales are stored in separate current and history tables (for example, SO Headers for current sales orders and SO Headers History for historical sales orders). Creating a report that shows all purchases or orders is difficult in other reporting tools but Stonefield Query makes it easy: simply select from the "current + history" table (for example, SO Headers (Current + History), which combines current and historical sales into one table).
- Allows you to consolidate records from multiple companies into one report. For example, you could show all outstanding invoices from all companies on the same report, including showing which company each one came from.
- Multi-Database Support: A single report can be run against each of your BusinessVision databases without making changes to the report. Furthermore, you also have the option to run a single report again multiple databases at the same time.
- All table and field names have been captioned with user friendly titles.
- All table relationships have been defined.
Other Stonefield Query Features
- Choose from four different report types: Quick Reports (row and column layout), Cross-Tabulation Reports (like pivot tables, for analysis), Charts/Graphs (pie, bar, etc.) and Labels (mailing, barcode, etc).
- Exclusion filters: this allows you to query on the absence of data, such as "give me a list of customers I didn't contact last year" or "give me a list of everyone who did not buy product X". Behind the scenes, Stonefield Query generates a NOT IN subquery, but from the end-user's perspective, it's just as easy as creating a normal filter.
- Live Links: This allows you to create reports that drill down to other reports (for example, clicking on a customer name to show the sales for that customer) or automatically bring up someone's email address in your email program or Web site in your browser.
- Output Options: Stonefield Query supports output to comma-delimited (CSV), Image Formats (.bmp, .gif, .jpeg, .png, .tiff), Microsoft Excel® (XLS), Microsoft Word® (DOC), Open Office (Calc & Writer), PDF, Rich Text Format (RTF), Table Format (DBF), Text (.txt), Web Page (HTML), XML, and XPS (.xps).
- Report Templates: Choose from one of the supplied templates or use the Template Editor to build your own.
