If the Support Online Updates configuration setting is True (the default), the Updates page of the Stonefield Query Options dialog allows the user to specify whether Stonefield Query checks for updates and if so, how often. If configured to do so, it will check the URL specified in the URL for Online Updates setting to see if a newer version of the program is available. They can also choose the Check for Updates function in the Help menu to manually check at any time. This makes it very easy to deploy updates to your users, and is discussed in more detail in the Updating Stonefield Query to the Latest Version help topic.

URL for Online Updates is blank by default, which means it will use the Stonefield Query server. If you want to control updates yourself, or use this mechanism to not only deploy updates to Stonefield Query core files but also your project files, enter the URL (for example, "www.myserver.com/updates") you wish to use. You can also specify a user name and password to use to connect to that URL in the Username for Online Updates and Password for Online Updates settings.
